Frequently Asked Questions

Info General Information

Why is the City launching West Palm Move?

The service is part of the City's broader effort to manage congestion and give residents, employees and visitors convenient alternatives for making short trips without needing to drive and park for every trip.

Is West Palm Move replacing RideWPB?

Yes. RideWPB ended May 31, 2026. West Palm Move is a new City mobility service with expanded features and a new operating model.

Is this the same service as the trolley?

No. West Palm Move is a new City mobility service and is separate from previous trolley operations.

Is West Palm Move ADA accessible?

Yes. To update your accessibility setting, tap 'Accessibility' in the West Palm Move app, or call  561-264-0458.

Fixed Route Fixed-Route

When does Fixed-Route service begin?

Fixed-Route service will go live on September 8.

Do I need an app to ride Fixed-Route?

No app is required for Fixed-Route-only trips.

How frequently does Fixed-Route run?

Fixed-Route vehicles run every 8 to 10 minutes.

What are the operating hours for Fixed-Route?

Fixed-Route service runs Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 9:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 9:00pm, and Sunday from 8:00am to 8:00pm.

Where does Fixed-Route travel?

Fixed-Route runs a north–south route between the Norton Museum of Art and Northwood Village. Key destinations along the route include downtown / Clematis, CityPlace, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Are Fixed-Route stops wheelchair and ADA accessible?
The City is actively reviewing proposed City-owned Fixed-Route stops for ADA accessibility as part of launch preparation.
What do Fixed-Route vehicles look like?
Vehicles are Karsan e-JESTs with West Palm Move branding around the sides. They are larger than the On-Demand vehicles.
What do Fixed-Route stop signs look like?

Fixed-Route stop signs will have a West Palm Move header, a subheader listing the direction of the bus, and the cross streets of the stop at the center. View an example below:

On Demand On-Demand

When does On-Demand begin service?
Service begins September 15.
Why do I have to walk to meet my ride?

On-demand operates corner-to-corner. You may walk a short distance to a pickup point (a “virtual stop”). Downtown and busy commercial areas use designated virtual stops so we can pick up more than one rider without adding a lot of time to the trip.

What do On-Demand vehicles look like?

All On-Demand vehicles are VW ID Buzzes branded with West Palm Move's orange gradient, so they should be easy to spot.

What are the points of interest in the app?

These are locations we expect to be popular origins and destinations. Select them to quickly choose where you need to go to or from.

How do I request a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV)?

West Palm Move is not a paratransit service, but wheelchair accessible on-demand vehicles are available. Call +1 561 264 0458 so we can set WAV service up on your account. Please call rather than using an in-app toggle.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. You can book for yourself and additional passengers. Each additional on-demand passenger pays the same $2 fare, charged to the same payment method.

Can I bring a service animal or pet with me?

Service animals are always welcome. If you have an issue related to a service animal, email support-WestPalmMove@ridewithvia.com. Pets that are not service animals may ride in an airline-approved carrier.

Can I prebook a ride?

On-demand is ASAP only — request a ride when you are ready to go. The app may show on-demand, the bus, or both.

Why can’t I get a long distance ride?

When the bus is running, on-demand trips have a 5-mile distance cap (as the crow flies) so more vehicles stay available. For longer trips, the app will offer the best option, which may combine on-demand and the bus. The cap is off when only on-demand is operating, and it is always off for WAV trips.

Can I edit my pickup or dropoff location?

Once a ride has started, the destination cannot be changed. If you have not boarded, cancel and re-book.

Why can't I request a ride?

At busy times there may not be a vehicle nearby. Try again in a few minutes. Calling does not jump the queue.

How do I know where and when to meet my driver?

After your ride is confirmed, the app shows the driver’s ETA and live location, plus walking directions to your virtual stop.

What should I do if my driver leaves without me?

Re-book in the app, then email support-WestPalmMove@ridewithvia.com. You will not be charged for a ride you did not take.

How do I cancel my ride?

Cancel in the app or by calling +1 561 264 0458. Cancel as soon as you know you don’t need the ride. A cancellation fee may apply after a driver is assigned, unless the ETA grew by 5 minutes or more. To dispute a fee, email support-WestPalmMove@ridewithvia.com.

How do I report an item I left behind in the vehicle?

Email support-WestPalmMove@ridewithvia.com with a description of the item.

Can I leave feedback for my driver?

Use the ride feedback screen in the app after your trip.

How do I report a complaint?

Email support-WestPalmMove@ridewithvia.com or call +1 561 264 0458. Include as much detail as you can.

Settings App & Account

How do I update my account information (phone number, name)?

How do I reset my password?

Open the app and select Get Started. In the password box, select Forgot your password? and follow the prompts.

How do I add favorite addresses?

Open the menu, tap Favorites, then Set Home Address, Set Work Address, or add a named favorite.

How do I delete my account?

Payment Fares & Payment

How much do bus rides cost?
Rides are $1 each.
How much do On-Demand rides cost?
Rides are $2 each.
How do I pay for my bus rides?

Tap a credit or debit card, smartphone, or smartwatch on the reader when you board. No app needed for a bus-only trip. Cash is not accepted.

How do I pay for my On-Demand rides?

Add a credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay in the West Palm Move app. $2 is charged when the driver marks you as picked up. Cash is not accepted.

How do transfers between the bus and on-demand service work?
Transfers between the bus and on-demand service are free, bringing the flat fare for a combined trip to $2 total. If you are transferring from on-demand to the bus, show your ride receipt from the West Palm Move app to the bus operator. If you are taking the bus first, show your ride proposal to the operator.
Do I tip the driver?

No. Our drivers do not accept tips.

Why do I see a pending charge?

A hold is not a final charge. Adding a new card may place a $1 hold. Booking a ride expected to cost more than $15 may place a hold for that amount. Holds typically drop off in 3–5 business days, depending on your bank.

How can I dispute a no-show charge?

You may be charged if you were not at the pickup point on time and the driver waited. If the charge is wrong, email support-WestPalmMove@ridewithvia.com.

Are there any discounts available?

Not at this time. Fares are $1 on the bus, $2 for on-demand, and $2 total for a transfer trip. There are no reduced fares or passes at launch.

How do I apply a promo code?

Open the menu, select Promo Codes, and enter your code. If a code errors, it is likely expired. Questions: support-WestPalmMove@ridewithvia.com.

Family Policies

Zero tolerance policy

This service is powered by Via. Driver partners may not drive on the Via Platform under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and riders may not consume alcohol or drugs in the vehicle. Inappropriate, threatening, or violent behavior is not tolerated. If you feel unsafe, ask the driver to end the trip. If you are in imminent danger, call 911. Then report the issue in the app, email support-WestPalmMove@ridewithvia.com, or call +1 561 264 0458.

Anti-discrimination policy

Via does not tolerate discrimination against riders or driver partners, including on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sex, sexual identity or orientation, age, veteran status, disability, origin or destination, or any other protected characteristic, or against service animals. Violations result in loss of access to the Via Platform. Report issues in the app or at support-westpalmmove@ridewithvia.com.

Cigarette policy

Smoking of any kind is prohibited, including e-cigarettes, vaporizers, and smokeless cigarettes.

Eating & drinking policy

Avoid food and drink when possible. Beverages must be in a covered container (fast-food and disposable coffee cups are not allowed). Alcohol and open containers are not allowed.

Phone call policy

Limit phone calls to quick logistics and emergencies during shared rides.

Luggage/Personal items policy

Limit personal items to a single piece of luggage or a reasonably sized bag.

Car seat policy

West Palm Move does not provide car seats. Florida law (s. 316.613, F.S.) requires children 5 or younger to use a crash-tested, federally approved child restraint: a separate carrier or integrated seat through age 3; a carrier, integrated seat, or booster for ages 4–5. Drivers may decline a trip if a required restraint is missing.

Age policy

Riders must be 13 or older to ride unaccompanied. Children under 13 may ride with a parent or guardian.

No show policy

A no-show is: (1) canceling at the door after the driver has arrived; (2) not present after a five-minute wait, and the driver leaves; or (3) not present after five minutes, then still taking the ride. Suspensions: 3 no-shows in 30 days = 1 week; 6 in 60 days = 2 weeks; 9 in 90 days = 6 weeks. No-shows stay on the record 90 days. A suspension turns off on-demand booking in the app, on the web, and by phone.

Grocery policy

Bring as many grocery bags as you can carry in one trip. Carts are not allowed in on-demand vehicles; they are allowed on the bus.

Airport Policy

West Palm Move does not serve the airport.
